How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

"I" spy

After year's of running the contest - an assistant walks in to my office today and "needs a word that starts with i". Without thinking, it is amazing the words that pop into one's head. For immediately I thought of "indigo", followed by "illuminate" and "iris". While fine choices, she had the one all along, asking me what I thought of "intrepid". Long a favorite word since the Electric Kool-Aid Test, it should have been at the top of my list. Nice punctuation to a regular old Friday morning, though. 5 weeks until the Thames.
