How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

All Saint's Eve

10 months, do you think? Nothing I can see to change that at this stage, although still reasonable questions as to what then. The idea of escape, of something new entirely, of rejuvenation - just too powerful a thought on long sleepless nights such as this. Wondering what to do and why you are doing it.

Only 5 nights after this before an early wake-up call sends you back to Hali international and Newark en route to the South Pacific. So much has happened since leaving Lima in August 08, yet so much remains the same. Desires and dilemmas, that is. Ever always.

Should get back to the efforts of sleep. Another ridiculous hearing tomorrow on questionable subject matter over which you care not. So many hours, need to get back to putting them toward living. New Year's resolutions this year should be good ones, as long as you can honour them. Meanwhile, another week-long date in some foreign clime with KBJ. What's that, number 4? 5, I think. Progress since the June arrival. Looking forward to the "no planning" nature of this one. Should be entertaining at least.

And of course looking forward, as goes the constant refrain, to what is to happen, next.
