How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

Étienne de Silhouette

Home again.

Needs must in cutting out the extra few days.  (Nice unintentional pun recalling Samson's and the Ramblas -ed.)  Still, there was time enough for all of it.  The 1F upgrade and smooth trajectory out signaled the correctness of that call.  A full 21 hours door-to-door with the Toronto layover and a metro bus ride home that passed easily enough.  A shame to miss the Eels, but in some ways the focus on them has been parlayed into the listening of their music.

There were goats and African art and farm-based wineries; a winning haircut and new jersey and bankside memories and immersion in the dream and Da Vinci and Piebury and Smile and the Great Hall and 0-2 until 2-2 and VAR and Nandos; Ginebra and el National and sangria through a straw and lemon slush beer and la sagrada and la pedrera and la boca grande and la taverna.  First time, three times, haha.

Now the need to write in earnest, to focus on the fall and consider preparations for the new year.  As always, I wonder.  The swirling thoughts and possibilities are themselves a wonder.  Let's see what happens next.
