How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

'R Us

Oh a day, that started out well with a restful awakening to the world after a long work week.  Floundered on the impossibility of choice offered up by the baby registry, not quite ready for that journey, head still filled as it is with Qatar.  What a performance in Hamilton.  The whole day a masterpiece, from the GO train to the A&W to the tailgate to the hijacking of seats to Laren's goal to "Fuck USA" to the decision to run down for the clap only to be in position for a video of the extra smack.  3 x 2-0, thank you very much.

And so I dream of Qatar.  The dream in my heart.  Are these thoughts a distraction to the reality that is coming, the kicking man growing inside, the need for the baby registry and all other items, the slow ticking of days as we approach.  Already one month gone of 2022, amazingly.  The World Cup looms on the horizon with the promise of the Canadians making an impact, and I love the struggle of the logistics, figuring out just how best we can do this.  With a child.  Imagine telling that to yourself as Estacinho Jr. drove you around Salvador.  So much by way of possibility - Seychelles, Male, Colombo, Iran, Muscat, Dubai, Addis, Egypt...  the April Fool's closing date for Spray not the one, as perhaps all the attention to be focused on Boston Pizza flight bookings?  8 years later, and how much has changed...

Sent an initial email to Tim tonight, almost immediately trumped by Mirriam's desire to be involved.  And why not at that?  We need to figure out this paternity leave.  Let's have the hearings in June and September to come pave the way for it.  Wouldn't that be a delight?  The home search still looks a pain, with Spruce and Thyme going for well over what they are worth in a fair fight.  But let's see what the tide brings.  How you found yourself this one is beyond me.  As she sits up in Company.  Hehe.  Oh my boy A.  You are joining a good one.  Keep drinking up that iron.  We cannot wait to meet ye.
