How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

Not Even the Courtesy of a Response...

What a place. Final report issued today. No change.

I find how it all plays out so fascinating, especially in the mind. From London, Simms sends the request for a case this morning, immediately answered. He is the one who earns an extra 20k on appeal, 4% for him rather than the bonus or 13% bump that might have left me satisfied. The moral high ground feels rather wonderful.  Conversation with DM over bourbon cause for worries on his part, perhaps, but nothing to be done or changed in the near term as a result.  It opens up some escape options if you choose to fall down the rabbit holes, but all in good time.

The chance to explore the local flavour of Scotch tastings and the like remain wonderful.  Rare finds from ghost distilleries and taking Ardbeg investment advice from plumbers adding to the stories.  How will it all end, I wonder.  The idea of choosing the Istanbul conference intrigues, the chance to fit in recollections of Rome and Istanbul as you tell those stories seems a must.  The FA Cup final date looms, as does the start of next season.  Where will Mirriam's travel plans fit in, as you ponder the cattle and ceremonies that the Tongan girl demands in exercising her rights.  Heh.

What a world.  Let us see what comes of it.  Three stories sent in for prize consideration tonight.  When will the second acceptance hit home?  Keep going, it is coming.
