How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

The Importance of Being Ernst

40th of another.  A fine celebration, first night out of the marital bed for months.  Floating as you like it.  A circumnavigation of the Gibbon island.  Decisions of long-lasting consequence.  A raced up (spellcheck on peaceful, haha) life.  Comeau’s comments about the ability to chill, nothing matters today.  What I’m relying on is the benefit of time, he says.  Aren’t we all, until we aren’t.

More anon.

The water so lovely this morning, an icy bath of delight.  Vertiginous feelings latent but overcomable.  An experience of peace, and a sense of what an ocean-front place may yield, in future days.  Although the commitment is extraordinary, so keep it in mind.  What is to be done.  And how to write it starting next June…
