How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

The Perils of Laughing

Twice I have been caught laughing in the middle of a train of thought, and so that becomes always, and so a day of work is up in the air as the mind races around words that cannot be retracted.  Brooding over specific comments, why do you think I am sad, why do you think you can tell me how to feel.  When will you learn to let the mood pass before fueling the fire with more powder.  When will you learn how to avoid the interruption and jumping ahead and wait to listen?  Try and do better.  So much of life is in managing those negotiations.

Burns was good, the epitaph to William Muir the highlight, as well said in so few words as is possible.  The laughter of forgetting, and the excesses of Scotch pushing you beyond memory.  A day to recover and now more time to rebuild this as well.  Oh my.
