How Sad a Passage

COUNTESS "This young gentlewoman had a father,--O, that 'had'! how sad a passage 'tis!--whose skill was almost as great as his honesty; had it stretched so far, would have made nature immortal, and death should have play for lack of work." -Act I scene i, All's Well that Ends Well.

Double Conundrum

"Why not do something you will never do again?"

Ah the Hours. the lingering questions.  Getting older not all it is cracked up to be. Another appendix (of the body), another misordering of plans, but in this case positive (we hope). BK to buy JS some basket? Yes. Although I don't think I'll be closing any deals tomorrow... Bahamas. Atlantis. Amazing. How long, how long? Time after time. Just plan for me. Every month. Every week. Every Day. Every Hour. (For you, every minute)

Press Gang, 49 dollar Talisker 25 at 5-7 percent. How could it be avoided? Cheers to inevitability... even when it disappoints.

Spectacular Happy Burns Day thus far. It has started. Ever hopeful, aye.

Self-Consciousness, and its ...

So, a few weeks of surprises, as well as the same-old.  Magical conversations and fashion show in the Bahamas, with Fred and others.  Just enough time to be motivated to get back out there, the Teke man to serve as a daily reminder.  How permanently (again?) will be the question, although the sailboat will provide solace in the summer season, no doubt.  Dreams of sailing beyond the province down past Carolina shores encouraged by the view from Westjet window panes.  Then catching up with RB and MM suitably random and nostalgic, as well as young Tal and Chuck, plus the Irish Embassy too - all memorable.  And inside jokes at that, none better than Bahamas and the 4 by 4.  What cost a few resolutions for such wonder?

And on top of it, hilarious lack of mention of other pre-Energy law class news, that which seemed unlikely developed quicker than imagined of a sudden.  Leading to inevitably the same unanswered questions and inarticulate bungling.  To be continued, I guess.  Perhaps to a different outcome though?  Let's hope. Or at least give it a little better effort...  I think that's right, you know?  An even 400 posts perhaps a decent sign a' that.

Of Pathfinders and Oboes

Last of 5 nights in NFLD, stranded by the blizzard, and managed to stay firmly on the wagon despite the obvious temptations otherwise.  Tedium of dinner parties - snowblowing and South Africa, dementia and recollection of the joys of sailing past...  The relief in returning to solitude, yet always interesting reflecting on the subjects of conversation, and the forever nature of relationships you manage to avoid.

In all another fine stay running up the hours up on this rock, first flights of 2013 already in the books and with hopes for Nassau in 5 more.  Perhaps.  Still have a conversation to have on the return which will most likely be disappointing, so need to get serious on some of the other random resolutions.  Por que no?

‘Eht’s a tightroap Spud, eht’s a fookin tightroap’

Isn't it just, whether discussing Walcott's future development or today's conversation over apple cider and some coconut-themed mocktail... At least let it be done.  No high hopes for any future developments, but perhaps... See what time brings. To include the note with the loan of TNOTW, that is the question. Assuming you get up in the morning, por que no? But say what? Apologies (again) for being light-hearted, trying to find the right balance. Nah, the impossibility of frankness, honesty, etc. Letting it be for now the right choice.  Only to laugh at the surprise message from h.  Oh my.

At least you've not been swayed against the resolution, two, now three days done! Bring us through a weekend and confidence will rise... The work is there to distract.  And slowly the drudgery will bring me around to other errands that need to be run, the cleaning and the organizing and the car service.

How funny, recalling that LB story of the Royal Oak Thursday night on the water. Should go back and see if there is any trace of a real-time recording on Ahab's... just the tales of the Czech tempest and L. in the sky with diamonds.  Fun to see, as this may be, years hence.

Gods bless the unknown.  To the stairs!

Balmoral Syrah, 2004, Bottle No. 45088

New approach this year, what with the bottle of red instead of something more potent.  And yet Talisker is what it ends with anyhow.  Pretty controlled and relaxing night, even if one eye was always on the clock.  The only company earlier being Ms. G, and how that conversation goes remains open.  I feel like there is only one ending, and so that's the reason for avoiding focus on it, but you never can tell.  The whole thing is surprising enough in itself, maybe it will continue...

In the interim, there is just the manifesto: the wagon, the exercise, the cooking, the online shit.  Por que no start, and make a beginning?  Something new, anyway, and why care what anyone thinks, how it turns out?  Just... try.  And see what happens.  When 2011 ended, you'd have had a hard time predicting you would be right here.  So let's see what you've got 2013.  Just don't be boring is all I ask.
